Introductions
Hello, World of Trucking, Dr Dispatch users, subscribers, and potential customers.
I will be taking over the blogs, for now, hopefully, I prove to be a satisfactory blogger for the company, and for the readers.
I am hoping to create an area where we can discuss some of the recent news around trucking.
Speed Limits
An article that was published on Fleet Owner’s site says that speed limiting may be coming to trucks. It is an interesting concept and I wonder how it might affect how the shipment is handled.
What might be the opinions of our subscribers? Do you believe this will affect how quickly freight is delivered? Will it cause more truckers to drive when fatigued?
My only thought on this issue is that there are some areas on the road where the speed limit is higher than 65. I suppose they decided 65 would be the cap out due to it being the average speed on most highways.
Self-driving Trucks, coming soon?
In addition to this technology, there are several sites, Fleet Tracker, Trucking Info, etc… that have articles about self-driving vehicles.
Rolf Lockwood of Trucking Info says that there should be some Self-Driving Trucks from the Netherlands in about 5 years. This can change the world of trucking, but would it be for the better?
